We are a non-profit association and sailing school in Como since 1982: sailing courses on cabin yachts in Domaso, boating licence and Mediterranean cruises, with volunteer instructors.

Where do I start?
Your first sail is always with an instructor aboard; then we suggest the right next step. All activities are for members: the UISP card costs €50 a year and includes insurance.
I have never been on a boat
First time sailing is a full day on a boat with an instructor, in Domaso: no experience needed. If you would rather start the path right away, the beginner course is the first step.
I already sail
Book a day sail with an instructor to get back on the water and get to know our boats. Then tell us what you can do and we will point you to the right course.
I want the boating licence
Two courses a year, in February and October, inshore or offshore. Don't wait for the next edition: write to us now and we will explain how it works and when it starts.
Learn to sail with us
Cabin yachts, an instructor aboard and at most four students per boat. You start with the beginner course and climb one step at a time, until you can run boat and crew on your own. The boating licence is a separate path.
For those who have never been on a boat or have little experience. The goal is to teach the fundamental concepts of sailing.

Inshore or offshore, motor only or sail and motor. Theory at our Como office, practice between Domaso and La Spezia; two courses a year, in February and October.

- I have never been on a boat — can I still take part?
- Absolutely. Our sailing licence course and our beginner course (Corso Base) are designed for people who have never set foot on a sailing boat.
- Do you run sailing courses for adults, or only for young people?
- We run sailing courses for adults of every age. No previous experience is needed and there is no age limit — you can start at twenty or at sixty. Annje Bonnje's activities and courses are suitable for everyone and every age, and our cabin-boat courses on Lake Como are open to adult beginners starting from scratch.
- Do I need a boating licence to join a sailing course?
- No. You can join any of our sailing courses without a licence: you learn on board, with an instructor. The boating licence is a separate qualification, needed only if you want to skipper certain boats yourself — and in many cases it is not required even for that. If your goal is to learn to sail, start with the Corso Base, not with the licence.
- What should I bring with me on board?
- A packed lunch is a good idea, and you should always bring plenty of water. Trainers, comfortable clothes in layers (with a waterproof outer layer), a windproof jacket, a hat and sunglasses (ideally with a retaining strap), and sunscreen. Bring a buoyancy aid if you have one — if not, we will provide one for you.
- Do I have to become a member to take part?
- Yes. As an association, all of our activities are for members: on top of the course or cruise price there is the membership card (€50 a year), which includes insurance. It is not a service fee but your membership of Annje Bonnje — it lasts the whole year and also gives you access to the other courses, the cruises and the events at our clubhouse.
- Do I need a medical certificate?
- Yes. For insurance reasons you must provide a medical certificate for non-competitive sporting activity — ask your doctor for a "certificato medico per attività sportiva non agonistica".
- Where do the sailing courses take place?
- Our lake courses are held in Domaso, on the upper part of Lake Como. Our sea courses and cruises take place in the Mediterranean, with itineraries and departure ports that change from season to season — you will find them listed on each individual cruise.
- Are you a company?
- No. Annje Bonnje is a non-profit amateur sports association (in Italian, an "associazione sportiva dilettantistica", or asd). Everything on this site is organised by members and for members, and the prices shown cover the costs incurred and the teaching itself — they are a sharing of expenses, not a margin.
